Can I have/use a headset for my Zoom softphone?

The proper way for you to use your Zoom phone is on your computer or mobile device - this is called a "softphone" or phone by software. The Zoom application is installed and launches by default on your company workstation. If you would like a headset for using during calls and you do not already have one, ibml will have or will order for you a wired USB and 3.5mm audio based headset.

I would like a different headset for my Zoom phone.

ibml will be providing USB and 3.5mm audio based wired headsets. If you prefer something different, please discuss with your supervisor.  Many of us have our own personal Bluetooth headsets that are also compatible.  We would like to limit the hardware ibml supports, thus the reason we have provided a standardized type.

Can I have/use a traditional desk phone with Zoom?

If you prefer or need a traditional desk phone to use with your Zoom account, you will need to submit a request to IT via ticketing.ibml.com.

Can I use my phone contacts with the Zoom phone app?

Yes you can, but this is totally up to your discretion. You cannot sync your contacts to the Zoom desktop app - you can only sync your phone contacts in the Zoom mobile app. However, keep in mind that this is an ibml owned account on which you cannot assume any privacy or ownership.

Can I use my company Zoom account for personal Zoom audio and video calls?

Yes you can, but this is totally up to your discretion. Keep in mind that this is an ibml owned account on which you cannot assume any privacy or ownership. ibml expects that you will conduct yourself according to all ibml Employee Conduct policies on all Zoom interactions with your ibml owned Zoom account.

Can/Should I use my personal cell phone for my company Zoom account?

Yes you can, but this is totally up to your discretion. By default, the Zoom mobile app does not sync with any data on your personal cell phone unless you so choose. Keep in mind, that this is an ibml owned account on which you cannot assume any privacy or ownership. ibml expects that you will conduct yourself according to all ibml Employee Conduct policies on all Zoom interactions with your ibml owned Zoom account.

What if my customer is not comfortable using Zoom for audio or video calls?

Zoom audio and video calls are the official way by which ibml communicates internally with each other and externally with our customers. If a customer has an issue, security, privacy, technical, or otherwise with using Zoom, you will need to submit a detailed ticket to IT via ticketing.ibml.com to request the use of another application. Keep in mind, that this is a request and will be treated as such in order to mitigate risks to ibml while providing legendary customer experiences.   When submitting a ticket to request use of a different toolset, we ask that you include specific details around the customer need(s), i.e. security policy, connectivity, etc.
